Cover title. ; Statement of responsibility and publication information from artist's statement accompanying book. ; Mis-direct-ion Re-direct-ive is a journey through stages from passivity to action. The text describes a struggle to overcome a state of apathy and indecision caused by fear and regret. Because the handmade abaca paper is translucent, as many as three or four sheets can be visible simultaneously when layered, creating an evolving visual narrative that comes in and out of focus much as mental clarity may wax and wane. The book is composed of twelve double-sided 4 x 11 letterpress prints, bound with a modified long stitch in a variable edition of five.--Artist's statement from website (accessed December 20, 2016).

Joan Lyons' New York Walks June 9-11, 2016 is a document of the artist's last trip to NYC with her husband Nathan, as he photographed the city's myriad signs, marks, and cultural detritus on which he built his vision. The photographs here trace these walks with cascading shadows of passerby across the sidewalks, streets, and gutters. Printed in black and white on newsprint at the Visual Studies Workshop, New York Walks captures the flow of people, noting the shadows tracing records of passage on the city's streets. -- Publishers website.

Limited edition of 41 copies, signed and numbered by the artist and printer.; 4 1 copies of November, A Map were completed for the autumnal equinox of 2015. The papers were contact printed and the poem written by Velma Bolyard, and printed by Mark McMurray and Velma Bolyard at Caliban Press in Canton, NY. ; The book is presented in a windowed, sewn envelope with a separate colophon inserted. ; November is my favorite month, my birth month, and the time of the year when the precious abundance of summer melts down and we see the bones of the land here in the North Country of New York. As I moved through the turning of the year, I gathered flora from the bared down countryside. Using the fruits, nuts, seeds, flowers, leaves, twigs, fungi and metals: copper, aluminum, steel, iron, and the hard water from my well, I contact-or-eco-printed them in my kitchen. the colors, patterns, resists and pigments are transferred to the paper by means of heat, water, and pressure after being bundled into a big pot and cooked. After, they are unbundled, rinsed, and pressed dry: alchemy. They are a hortus siccus, a dry garden, an herbal map of my home. This November poem came to me and the idea of making a map to navigate the down turning of the year became my plan. -- colophon.
