Text
To the Editor:
The Gay Liberation Front has the goal of eliminating oppression, overt and covert, on homosexuals. Certainly the severe oppression that exists at Eastman School must —
be stopped now. Students are no longer expelled and faculty fired solely because they are gay, but there seem to be a large variety of more subtle harassments. The Dean of Students has so far refused to see us, but we have asked the Eastman administration for a new policy statement. Such a statement must include the recognition that the Dean’s office exists to council academic-related problems of students who come for such assistance — not to create these problems, and that the private sexual lives of ESM students will no longer be within the scope of administrative concern. On the positive side, we demand an assurance that the Eastman administration will actively work to eliminate discrimination against homosexuals in all areas of Eastman life.
